WIP: Row Houses Under Construction

I've been a little panicked lately.  Christmas coming, so much to do, so little time....   (I know it's not even Thanksgiving yet)
So I went ahead and put away the fall fabrics and put some Christmas fabrics on display.

And I've been watching  Christmas movies and "building" houses!

I started the Christmas tree 2 years ago (I saw this one:  Christmas Tree Quilt Patternwhich is a pattern from About.com) and the little patchwork quilts last year.  And recently, somewhere I saw someone made rows of little house for a border (but can't find where I saw it so I can give them credit) and I knew the little houses would be just the thing to finish off these projects!

It's interesting to see the progress I've made in technique and skill when I look back at older projects.  Since I sewed long rows of the patches together, they don't line up very well.  I wondered if they are even worth completing, but I think they will still look cute as wall hangings, table toppers or little Christmas throws and I may even get them completed this year!

And I even did a little shopping yesterday.  There was such a good sale -- buy two, get two free and they even let me use my coupons.  I love Japanese Cherry Blossom -- it is the most popular in the nation (according to the sales girl)!
Have you started any shopping yet?  I definitely want to join in with some Christmas once a month projects for 2014!

Sounds like heaven......sewing and Christmas films! I love the little houses and the Christmas tree. They're so pretty. I made some place mats with houses a couple of years ago and I'd love to make a house quilt. I'm glad I'm not the only one with ongoing projects! Found your blog through sew darn crafty. Maggie xx

That is a pretty tree! And the houses are so cute!
Isn't it fun to see some earlier work and see how much you have improved?!

Hey, it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas over there in the attic! I love the Christmas fabric decorations, and they would be very inspiring to look at over the next few weeks. The projects you are making are really pretty, and the houses are charming!
