Finish it up Friday!

I love to finish something and Friday is such a great day!
Earlier in the year I followed Amanda at Material Girl Quilts as she hosted a layer cake quilt along.

I ended up making a few more blocks and making two lap size quilts instead of a queen size-- one in cooler purples and one in warmer purples.

Today I finished the quilting and binding.  Almost ready for gifting (just needs a label).

Christmas Star Pillow

****Welcome to August's Christmas Corner!****
This Christmas pillow is constructed with an Ohio star block.  I have taken photos for a tutorial if there is any interest.

Also completed, two pot holders and some matching aprons in process (aprons not shown)

Did you see the Christmas Windows Wall hanging, I made from some scenic fabric last July?
There's a complete tutorial for this project too.  Link here.
And here's a cute pillow tutorial from the Fort Worth Fabric Studio that's another item on my to do list:
Link is here.

Thanks for visiting Christmas Corner!

Postage stamp quilt with red scallop border

Today I finished the quilting and binding on this postage stamp quilt I began a couple years ago.
The blocks are made with four 9-patch blocks sewn together for a 36 patch block.  The blocks are made with 2 1/4 inch strips.

The blocks are set on point and bordered in red scallops.  The border took at least 3 times longer to bind so while I love the look, I'll definitely think twice before doing a scallop border again.

Update:  Some daytime photos:
There's a quilt show at a nursery, called Alden Lane, in Livermore, CA where beautiful quilts are hung high up in the trees each September.  It's such a lovely idea, I tried it out.  Next time I'll see if I can hang the quilt higher.

Thanks for stopping by!

Sweet Little Blue and Pink Quilted Table Runner

Scrappy 9 patch Table Runner (pattern found here)

Since it's sort of sweet in pink, blue and cream, I decided to FMQ a little wild flower on a vine design.

I got the cute little castle candle holder at Yankee Candle Co. quite a few years back.

Red, white, black, and grey quilt finished

I made this quilt top last year after seeing a pin on Pinterest and was so inspired, I pulled out fabrics similar in color and stitched up a quilt top.  Since then it's been waiting...
Until now when I quilted it up and put on the binding.
Quilted with big and little swirls-- more good practice.

In case you're wondering about the pin-- here it is with a link.
This modern quilt from Kimberly Jolly for It’s Sew Emma uses the Mama Said Sew collection by Sweetwater for Moda. Big enough to use on the bed, Sew Little Time is a one-block project you’ll be able to whip up with ease.

Another Bright Quilt-- with Charm Squares this time.

A few years ago, when I was a new quilter, I bought my first charm pack from Connecting Threads.
I used them as the center of these double bordered, set on point, blocks.  My Sunshine 16 and I recently got a lot of practice with feathers, figure 8's, straight lines, and all sorts of designs and finished it up.

Out in the garden-- I wanted to show the tomatoes, zucchini, flowers, etc. but can't fit it all in.  (Still need to wash out the chalk lines.)
On the bed.

I want to make some pretty white pillow cases.
