We are having a house built in Idaho!

Here's a little tour.
We looked around for a few months to find just the perfect place.  We didn't plan on building, but happened upon this great lot at the end of a cul de sac.
This is a view from the bonus room above the garage which will be my sewing room.

The bonus room has a full bathroom.

The back patio

This area by the fence was all weeds and then in one day it was a very long grassy area!  There is a canal to the left.  The window on the far left is my bathroom and the 3 windows are in my bedroom.

Shower in the master bath

Master bath soaker tub area.

Crawl space access

Rounded counter in the kitchen.

Two furnaces (four car garage)

From the back again.

And the back again from a different angle

Back in September when we put a deposit to secure this lot.  Since then numerous people have wanted to buy this lot from us, which is impossible since we don't actually own the lot yet!  There is a golf course behind us on the other side of a road.  My husband says he'll be hitting golf balls over to the green!

In February, they started digging for the foundation.  You can kind of see we have a great view of snowy mountains.
We were surprised to find out that it may be complete in June!  We'll keep our house in California for a year or two in case we change our minds.  We've already met one of the other couples who are also building in the cul de sac and look forward to some new friendships.  It's a fun adventure!

Christmas Corner March 2016

Welcome to Christmas Corner!
Today's gift idea is Pouches to fill with fun stuff!  Pouches are great for using up darling scraps of fabric and can be made in any size.
My favorite pouch tutorial is here.

This idea was conceived when I received this darling pouch from Julie the Crafty Quilter and wanted to make one right away.  Stop by to see wonderful things by The Crafty Quilter!

I made my pouches a little larger (finishes at 6 x 9"), so they can hold some Easter treats.

This is the second pouch I made.  This time I added some ribbon and buttons for extra cuteness!

The plan is to make a pouch with these fabrics next!
Future ideas:  Christmas Words  The Quilters Cache has a paper pieced free alphabet pattern here.
I may combine some Christmas words with this UFO I'm not sure what to do with yet.
Thanks for stopping by Christmas Corner and Happy Easter!

Diamond Pillow Case and Pillow

To go with the Diamond Quilt made last month for my niece's new baby boy.

I used the "Sweet Dreams Little one" free embroidery design from Nana & Co. you can find here.  And I purchased the sleepy time animals embroidery pattern from here.
I added a fox to the line up to match the foxes in the fabric prints

Circa 2016 and Goodbye UFO Prize

The Circa 2016 quilt along is found at the Temecula Quilt Co.
Currently we are making two 3" finished blocks per week (3 1/2" unfinished).  Officially there are only 8, 3" blocks completed so far, but I've made some extras because they're fun to make.

I'm so interested to see what new blocks to make each Friday and eventually to find out how these blocks will be arranged with the medallion.
I love to visit The Crafty Quilter's Blog.  She has great tutorials and all sorts of interesting posts, and this month, I even won a prize!
