Hello Fall! Update regarding wool batting!

I washed and dried this quilt and experienced the terrible bearding phenomenon!  It's when the batting fibers come right through the fabric and makes it fuzzy.  I think my mistake was drying the quilt with heat.  So beware if you use wool batting.  There is washing instructions on the packaging, so my fault, but a terrible mistake!

I'm so happy to join Carla of Creatin in the Sticks for this wonderful Fall hop!

I cut out all the pieces for this Halloween patchwork quilt three years ago but never got back to it.

Six inch squares set on point. Here's the original post that has some cutting instructions for the setting and half square triangles.  (never mind, that link doesn't work, don't know why)

I love the creamy setting squares with the polka dot binding.  Do you see the little free motion quilted bats?

The backing is flannel gingham and I used wool batting for the first time.

Please visit all the blogs showing their beautiful projects today!

Some favorite quilted projects that I love to put out in autumn.

Last but not least...

Come back soon to see a new table topper.  I ran out of time to finish it before the hop.   I'm still trying to decide what to call it:  Pumpkins in Moonlight or Moonlit Pumpkin Patch.  I'll give you some instructions and show you how to make these cute bats!
